What is Happening With the One Ton Challenge?

At the beginning of 2020, we committed to collecting one ton (2000 pounds) of food during the year for our local food bank. We started strong and even got ahead of schedule.
Then COVOD-19 happened.
The barrel is looking pretty empty. It makes sense as we are having our services online only and people can’t drop off their donations before the worship service.
However, this is actually the time when Community Care needs the help the most. Although circumstances are more complicated, this is NOT the time to give up.
Here are some options for you to keep up the giving:
- Contact Amanda and I and we will come and pick up your donation of food from your front porch or wherever else is convenient.
- Drop off your donation directly to Community Care. You can weigh your donation and send us the info.
- You can send a donation of money for the One Ton Challenge to the church. You can do that by mailing a cheque or doing an online donation and indicating it is for the food bank.
- You can also donate directly to Community Care.
There are many options. We all are feeling the stress of this pandemic but there are people worse off than us. You may think a can or two, or a donation of $10 won’t make a difference but you are wrong. If everyone does a little, we can make a big difference.
